Overview of the SEO Keywords Tracking Stats Tab

Arguably, one of the most important tabs in your SEO ranking software control panel is the KEYWORDS tab.

For many of our clients – both professional search engine optimizers as well as individuals -  this is where the “rubber meets the road” so to speak because the keyword position grid instantly gives you the ability to see exactly how well all of your keywords are doing – at a glance!

Like the “Manage Websites” overview screen, the “Keywords Tab” shows you instantly how effective your current keyword strategy really is, which keywords are doing well and which ones need more work.

The beauty of this page is that you’re instantly able to see “at a glance” exactly how your keywords are ranking for each website you are tracking in Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

Only after you use this feature we you truly understand the power and time savings that it gives you.

As with the SEO stats overview grid, Green numbers mean an increase in something, Red numbers mean a decrease, and black indicates that there has been no change in that keyword ranking..

By using this color code system and presenting all of the major search engines on the same screen, you’re able to immediately get a idea of how well your keywords are doing across the board.

You might have a #1 ranking in Google for a particular keyword but that same keyword only ranks #15 in Yahoo. Time to get to work.

But my favorite part of the Keywords Tracking Overview Grid is that it  gives you the ability to see a trending chart for any particular keyword AND to see how that keyword has performed over a period of time.

Here’s an example:

Let’s say that you see an GREEN number in Yahoo column. This indicates that your ranking for that particular keyword has moved up. (And that’s a good thing right)

To see how many positions it’s moved simply click on any number you see in the grid and the system will launch a chart that displays the ranking and performance of that keyword since the time it was entered into the system.

And of course the longer you monitor that particular keyword is in the system, the greater trend history you’ll develop.

Now to check other stats, simply click the “Jump 2 keyword” link at the top of the page, and the system will drop you back into the overview grid so you can check the rankings for other keywords that your monitoring.

Like the manage websites tab, the keywords stats page lets you sort each column a number of different ways to suit your liking and to reduce the time that you need to spend searching for information.

The bottom line is that if you’ve got a number of sites that your monitoring keywords for, staying on top of the movement of those keywords both up and down can be a real time killer.

Being able to see everything at a glance and know instantly which keywords have moved up and which ones have moved down is a huge timesaver for any webmaster managing multiple sites or for professional SEO’s managing thousands of clients sites.
